Same Great opportunity!

The Hāmākua Agricultural Co-op has come a long way since we were created in 1994 at the demise of the sugar plantations to create opportunities for displaced sugar workers.

Today, the Co-op is a community of farmers working together to support each other and the expansion of diversified agriculture in Hāmākua.

We are dedicated to providing affordable farm land to our residents and assisting our community of farmers and ranchers to work together to successfully produce high quality agricultural products.

We offer residents an opportunity to sub-lease farm land on one of our 100 farms ranging in size from 3 to 20 acres.  We offer some of the lowest lease rates in the State and our lands are situated at low elevations with lots of sunshine and are supplied with irrigation water from the Hāmākua Ditch.

Contact us today to learn how you can lease our land!

Your Co-op membership allows you to become part of a cooperative community of farmers and ranchers managing a variety of businesses and projects that include orchards, vegetable farms, aquaponic operations, nurseries, and ranches.

Other benefits include:

  • Belonging to a community of like-minded people dedicated to farming and helping each other succeed.
  • Access to our post-harvest handling facility located in Haina.
  • Sales of product through the Co-op booths at both the Waimea Homestead Farmers Market and the Waimea Midweek Farmers Markets.
  • Collective growing and marketing opportunities.
  • Discounted prices on fertilizer and soil amendments.

Please help us spread the word that we have farm land available to lease, or contact us today if you are interested in obtaining farm land to lease.
